Vancouver Whitecaps extend Camilo contract

Vancouver Whitecaps have signed star striker Camilo Sanvezzo to a new deal.

The 23-year old Brazilian was the Whitecaps MVP in 2011 whilst leading the club in goalscoring and he has been rewarded for his brilliant debut season with a new deal.

"We're delighted to agree to new contract terms with Camilo," said Whitecaps FC head coach Martin Rennie.

"He had an outstanding first season with us and will be an important part of our squad for years to come. Camilo can play up front as a striker or as a wide attacking midfielder. He's got plenty of pace and skill, plus a real nose for goal. He's also a big threat on set-pieces in and around the opposition's penalty box."
