Vancouver Whitecaps have confirmed the signing of English midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker.
The 28-year old former West Ham United and Aston Villa man joins the Canadian club after they acquired the first right of refusal from Portland Timbers in exchange for the second-round picks in the 2014 and 2015 MLS SuperDraft.
Whitecaps head coach Martin Rennie was thrilled with the signing of Reo-Coker who has also spent time with Wimbledon, Bolton and Ipswich Town during his career.
"Nigel is a leader on and off the pitch," said Rennie. "Although he is only 28, Nigel brings a lot of experience to our club and will be a great addition."
Reo-Coker added: "I am delighted to join Whitecaps FC. I have heard Vancouver is a great club, in an amazing city with fantastic supporters."
