Former USA U18 defender Omar Elmasri has been brought in for a trial by MLS strugglers Vancouver Whitecaps.
20-year old Elmasri is already training with the first-year club and although it is just a trial for the time being, he is confident he will join on loan from Mexican Primera Division club Tigres.
"It's a great city. They haven't been getting good results but it's such a good organization and I see a lot of potential," he said.
And Whitecaps coach Tom Soehn was impressed when Elmasri spent a few days with the club in July and thought it a good idea to have him back for a closer look.
"He's a young kid who we feel is pretty polished," he said. "I think that we need to see is the competitive nature of him and how he deals with adversity."
