USSF Division 2 outfit Vancouver Whitecaps have acquired Swiss duo Alain Rochat and Davide Chiumiento.

27-year old defender Rochat was born in Canada but has represented the Switzerland national team and joins the Whitecaps from Swiss Super League side FC Zurich. He has also spent time with Yverdon Sport FC, Young Boys and Stade Rennais.

Chiumiento, also a Swiss national team member, is a 25-year old attacking midfielder who has been acquired from Lucerne. He has also played with Italian giants Juventus and enjoyed loan spells with Siena, Le Mans and Young Boys.

Both players will join pending USSF Pro League approval. Per club and league policy, terms of the acquisitions and contracts were not disclosed.
