Van Wolfswinkel hits first Norwich goal

Record signing Ricky van Wolfswinkel netted his first Norwich City goal in a 1-1 friendly draw against Champions League hopefuls Real Sociedad at Carrow Road.

The £8million summer transfer from Sporting Lisbon turned the ball home from close range following a header from fellow new recruit Leroy Fer at a corner after 11 minutes.

Manager Chris Hughton, who had midfielder Bradley Johnson back from a knee injury but rested England goalkeeper John Ruddy, saw his side enjoy the best of the first half.

Norwich looked lively again after the restart, however the Spaniards, who finished fourth in the Primera Division last season, slowly got into the match and it was no surprise when former Arsenal man Carlos Vela equalised after 65 minutes with a neat finish from just inside the Norwich penalty area.
