Robin van Persie isn't planning to skip out on Arsenal anytime soon.

The Daily Express says Van Persie is prepared to ignore interest from Europe's top clubs in January to give Arsenal a chance to prove they can match his ambitions.

Van Persie, 28, is out of contract in 2013 and a remarkable run of 28 goals in 34 games this calendar year has alerted Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Paris St Germain.

Worried they will start receiving bids for their captain in the transfer window, Arsenal will try to open talks about his future next month.

But although Van Persie has said he is not ready to discuss a new deal with the Gunners, he has told friends he has no intention of quitting the Emirates in January.
