Arsenal captain Robin van Persie was absolutely delighted with the character his side showed in today's brilliant 5-3 victory over Chelsea.
The Gunners fell behind twice before scoring four of the last five goals to record a massive win at Stamford Bridge and van Persie, who netted a hat-trick to continue his rich vein of form, was thrilled with the performance of his team.
"You could see how happy we are at the end because we fought hard and every one of us showed character," van Persie said on Sky Sports 2.
"It's a big, big win for us today."
Arsenal's fifth goal came in injury time when van Persie pounced on an errant backpass from Florent Malouda toward Blues skipper John Terry and slotted home to ensure the points and he said it did catch him by surprise.
"I was surprised (when Terry slipped) because it was an easy backpass and I only saw later that he slipped because I was closing him down," he added.
"I suddenly realised I was one on one with (Petr) Cech and a couple of things came to my mind to do, but I did the easiest one."
