Robin van Persie admits his performances last season wasn't good enough at Manchester United.
The Netherlands international scored 10 Premier League goals in 25 starts during a campaign marred by injury.
"Last season I was second top scorer behind Wayne Rooney with 10 goals," Van Persie said.
"But people don't seem to accept this. I think that is deserved, because it says a lot that Wayne (Rooney) is top scorer with 12 goals.
"In all the other top teams, there is a minimum of one player who makes more than 25 goals over all competition. Not at United. That's the reality and I feel responsible for that."
