Holland coach Bert van Marwijk has hit out at Ajax's boo-boys for targeting Gregory van der Wiel.

The fullback could be driven out of Ajax by fans, with Manchester City and Chelsea among clubs monitoring his deteriorating situation.

"People should not underestimate how much impact negative and cynical applause from your own fans can make," Van Marwijk told De Telegraaf.

"You could say that as a player he should ignore it. But that's not easy."
