Van Hooijdonk: English CLOWNS are mocking Man Utd boss Van Gaal

Former Nottingham Forest and Celtic striker Pierre van Hooijdonk has jumped to the defence of Louis van Gaal. Van Hooijdonk recognises Van Gaal is under pressure at Manchester United, but says the criticism is over the top.

He told Voetbal International: "It has already gone so far that even the biggest clowns in England laugh at Louis.

"During my time as a player at Nottingham Forest, I have worked with them: Dave Basset and Ron Atkinson. In England, they are regarded as seasoned coaches, but from personal experience I know they're very bad B-actors.

"Men who have no idea how to make a team better and haphazardly what is needed. Those men, again like the last old school coach Sam Allardyce at West Ham United, now openly bring Van Gaal's craftsmanship in doubt.

"It's the world upside down. Because lets be clear: I find Louis a specialist."
