Dutch legend Willem van Hanegem says Louis van Gaal must build his new team around Manchester United striker Robin van Persie.

Van Hanegem admits he can't believe there's still debate in Holland about Van Persie's abilities.

"There are still many people who debate his position and his contribution. Stop it I say!" declared Van Hanegem.

"Van Persie is our best player, one of the best in the world even. He must be a permanent fixture in the Oranje as striker."
