Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has made Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels a priority target.
The Mail on Sunday says Van Gaal has told chief executive Ed Woodward to get a deal over the line during the World Cup.
Dortmund are unwilling to sell Hummels and it may need the player to start agitating for a move for negotiations to kickoff.
