Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is ready to turn the heat on his players this preseason.

The People says Van Gaal s setting a tough agenda by:

● Implementing double training sessions every other day for a week for his players before their pre-season US tour,

● Insisting United's top brass use the club's main ambassadors in America to carry out work with sponsors rather than have the current players do it, and:

● Limiting the demands on his stars to promote the switch from Nike to new kit suppliers Adidas on August 1.

An insider revealed: “It's already clear Van Gaal means business – he had a major say in the tour itinerary after being disturbed last summer about how the trip was put together.

“And he's followed on by limiting the exposure of players to commercial activities when the players are actually in America.

“Once they get home, he's also made sure he can control the fanfare around the Adidas deal, which is a big event for the club."
