Van Gaal trying not to get carried away after Man Utd's huge derby triumph

Louis van Gaal was trying to keep a lid on things after Manchester United disposed of neighbours Manchester City on Sunday.

The Red Devils produced a stunning 4-2 result in the Manchester derby to move four points clear in third place on the Premier League table but the Dutchman was trying not to get carried away.

"We are this moment four points ahead so that is a fact," he said.

"Maybe the difference will be one point again next week."

United goals from Ashley Young, Marouane Fellaini, Juan Mata and Chris Smalling came in between Sergio Aguero's brace for City as the Red Devils ended a losing streak of four matches against their crosstown rivals.
