Louis van Gaal was full of pride after Barcelona's 6-2 win at Real Madrid on Saturday.
Van Gaal was in charge at Barca just as Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Victor Valdes and Carles Puyol were breaking into the first team.
Now coach of AZ Alkmaar, Van Gaal said: "I didn't see the game, but I am very proud to see the four lads now being so influential."
The Dutchman also spoke of coach Pep Guardiola, who played for Van Gaal at the Nou Camp: "He knows how to treat players. The great merit of this team is their attack, but there is balance and pressure without the ball. It is a fantastic team, very hard working, and it shows.
"The big difference between Madrid and Barca is that Madrid has no team."
