Van Gaal may pass on permanent Man Utd deal for Falcao

Manchester United are rethinking plans to sign Radamel Falcao permanently from AS Monaco.

The Daily Express says fresh reports suggest Louis van Gaal is unconvinced by Falcao so far and is reluctant to commit £46m to signing the player outright.

Falcao has missed the two games against Chelsea and Manchester City and there are ongoing concerns about the player's long-term fitness, despite United insisted that the current problem has nothing to do with the knee injury that saw the former Atletico Madrid man miss the World Cup.

Indeed, with United still in desperate need of defensive reinforcements van Gaal is believed to be wary of spending money on an injury-prone striker when those funds could be better spent elsewhere.
