Edwin van der Sar believes Louis van Gaal is the right manager to restore Manchester United's glory days.
The Dutchman has taken a little bit of time to adjust to life as boss at Old Trafford but he appears to have now got it right after winning nine of their past 11 Premier League outings.
United are sitting nicely in third position with six fixtures remaining in the season and their recent form suggest to former star goalkeeper van der Sar that perhaps his fellow compatriot has reinstated the Red Devils' confidence.
"Believing in the philosophy of Louis, at the start of the new season, I think he can bring the club back to the place where it belongs," said the United legend.
"With a little bit of luck, they could have done that this season but for Chelsea winning a lot of those games with late goals - but let's hope so.
"It's been a good turnaround for the club and, if they can hold on to that third place, it's a great position to then maybe strengthen in a couple of areas of the team."
