Louis van Gaal is keen for Manchester United to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos.
Van Gaal could be confirmed as United manager this week.
The Sunday Mirror says Van Gaal agrees that the club should press ahead with their efforts to land the German.
Kroos is approaching the final year of his contract with Bayern and his refusal to sign a new deal, unless his wages are tripled to £180,000-a-week, has prompted United to believe they could land him for £25million.
The 24-year-old is reported to have long harboured an ambition to play for United. It would still be a major coup to prise him from Bayern's grasp.
