Robin van Persie was left out of the Manchester United squad on the weekend after missing one training session last week.

According to reports, the Dutch striker was not present in Louis van Gaal's matchday squad for Saturday's 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park after reportedly catching the same bug as the manager had earlier in the week.

Van Gaal has a strict policy on players missing training in the week leading up to a match an opted against including van Persie despite the fact he felt fine on Friday night and Saturday before the game.
