Van Gaal backing Jonker over Arsenal move

Louis van Gaal is backing Arsenal's appointment of Andries Jonker as new academy boss.

Jonker will leave Wolfsburg at the end of the season to take charge at Arsenal.

The Daily Mail says Holland manager Van Gaal, who had Jonker as his assistant at Bayern Munich and reckons he is an ideal fit for the Gunners, revealed manager Arsene Wenger was enquiring about Jonker more than a year ago.
