Newcastle Jets coach Gary van Egmond may recall Adam Griffiths for their next Asian Champions League clash.

After qualifying for the round of 16, the Jets face Korean club Pohang Steelers on June 24 and despite signing with Gold Coast United, Griffiths could still be used for the knockout clash.

van Egmond would be keen to use the services of the defensive midfielder but admits he has to speak to Griffiths about if first.

"First and foremost I need to speak to Adam," van Egmond said.

"There is no use putting wheels in motion if he is not interested.

"It is a matter of getting hold of him in the UK and seeing where his head is. I also need to talk to our senior players and get their opinion.

"There are quite a few things I need clarity on.

"But are we looking into it? Yes."
