Adelaide United striker Sergio van Dijk is confident his new club can win the A-League title this season.
After six weeks of action, the Reds find themselves a game clear on top of the table and the big Dutchman has belief that they can continue their form over the next 21 or so weeks and be crowned champions.
"I have the confidence that we can win the league, but it is going to be hard work," he admitted to Australian Football Weekly.
"Even though we are winning, we have to keep getting stronger and sharper, because teams are going to start lifting against us as well."
van Dijk has hit some good form for the Reds in recent weeks but says the only thing that matters is how the team is travelling.
"Doing well, scoring goals, that's alright, but in the end a championship is what I really want," he added.
"We've had a good start and maybe this is growing into something special. I hope and I believe that we can do it."
