Van der Vaart stars for Hamburg: I want Valencia move

Rafael van der Vaart starred for Hamburg in their victory yesterday over Bayer Leverkusen - but hours later was again declaring his ambition to join Valencia.

The Dutchman, says AS, spoke with both coach Huub Stevens and sports chief Dietmar Beiersdorfer, in the dressing room after the game and told them again that he wanted to move to Valencia before the summer market shuts.

He also told AS: "It was good to play. In the outset they (Hamburg fans) booed me, but soon they stopped. I only said what I feel: My dream is to play for Valencia."

Valencia sports chief Miguel Angel Ruiz plans more talks with Hamburg today over a deal for Van der Vaart.
