Rafael van der Vaart admits Emmanuel Adebayor has proved a great signing for Tottenham.

Spurs have benefited from Manchester City's wealth of talent by taking Adebayor on loan.

Van der Vaart said: "Adebayor is a great player for us and he was not even in the squad at City.

"He was training with the youngsters. That tells you everything. He's a great player and was not even allowed to play."
