Rafael van der Vaart is considering his options at Tottenham.

The London Evening Standard says Van der Vaart was unhappy at being left out of the starting XI for the opening day defeat at Newcastle United and is thought to have made his feelings known to Villas-Boas when learning he would be on the bench.

Reports in Holland today said Van der Vaart was prepared to return to former club Hamburg but that the Germans had not yet met Tottenham's £9.5m asking price.
