Van der Vaart backing Spurs striker Crouch to rattle Real Madrid

Tottenham midfielder Rafael van der Vaart believes they have the firepower to upset Champions League opponents Real Madrid.

Van der Vaart insists that beating Real is not just about revenge for him and says the Spanish club will have more to worry about than just flying winger Gareth Bale.

"Peter Crouch is a good footballer, great forward and has been superb for us in Europe," said Van der Vaart of his lanky strike partner. "Bale is a magnificent footballer and it's normal that many clubs will admire him.

"But, for me, it's not about revenge. I had some good times at Real Madrid but the problem was that we could not win the trophies they wanted."
