Former Manchester United keeper Edwin Van der Sar never had any interest in a coaching role once he retired. Although his career as such has gone full circle, as he has returned to Ajax, working as a marketing director, Van der Sar told reporters at Soccerex that coaching was never an option.

He said: "I didn't think coaching was my thing - I wasn't interested.

"I moved back to Holland and did a masters in sports management."
