Edwin van der Sar admits he should have joined Manchester United earlier in his career.

"We could have done it earlier," he told Setanta Sports on joining United in 2005. "1999 or after that but still, I'm making the most of the years I am here.

"I've enjoyed it from the first day. I felt really at home here and the fans give me a good reception all the time, it's always nice."
