Van der Sar grateful for late Man Utd chance

Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar admits he's grateful for getting the chance so late in his career to move to Old Trafford.

The former Fulham keeper told The Times: "It’s been great.

"Of course at an age like 34 you might not expect a club like United to come in for you, but I kept hoping and believing; that paid off and I got a chance to come here. Luckily we have won one or two things during my time here."
