Everton midfielder Andy van der Meyde has shaken off his hamstring injury and is chasing a first team place.
He told evertonTV: "It's my aim to get back in the side. I need it, Everton need it, the supporters deserve it and I can't wait to get back in the team and give them something back.
"Sometimes I have the feeling that people think, 'look at him, he's injured again and enjoying it', but that isn't the case, I want to play football. I want to feel how you feel when you're on the pitch and you hear the supporters scream and I want to have the feeling of scoring a goal.
"I can't wait to be back in the team. It's hard when you're not around your team-mates making jokes and I can't wait to be able to shoot on goal again.
"It's hard on match-days, because I think I could be on the pitch while I'm sitting in the stands like a supporter. I just want to show supporters that I can play football and just for myself to get the feeling back."
