Former Bayern Munich midfielder Mark van Bommel is ready to fight for his place at AC Milan. Van Bommel clinched a move to Milan yesterday.
"I am happy to play for Milan, partly as it's unusual for such a prestigious club to look for a 33-year-old," he told Spox.de.
"It was a purely sporting decision and I am not afraid of competition that I might find in the Rossoneri squad.
"I had many great moments at Bayern and must admit it is a little sad to leave at this moment, but I have faith in my abilities and think I can do well in Italy.
"I do think Bayern Munich could've still used a player like me."
