Van Bommel promises AC Milan fans he will stay on pitch

Mark van Bommel has promised he will be more disciplined on the pitch for AC Milan.

He was sent off on his Serie A debut for two bookable offences.

"I must admit it is not easy to adapt to Italian football, as it's completely different from German," confessed Van Bommel on Milan Channel.

"The first foul against Catania was a yellow card, but I don't think the second was. In any case, I have learned my lesson and will not make the same mistake twice.

"I want to learn Italian as quickly as possible so I can help communicate with my teammates.

"I hope to win everything with this team, even if it makes me sad that I cannot play in the Champions League."
