Van Bommel: Man Utd and Van Gaal good fit

Former Bayern Munich midfielder Mark van Bommel says Manchester United must do better next season.

Van Bommel will play in Sunday's Legends game between Bayern and United.

Asked about Louis van Gaal's team, Van Bommel told manutd.com: "A club with a track record like United should always play to win titles.

"Regardless of a Dutch revolution, I do think van Gaal and Manchester are a good fit because he is a coach who specialises in attacking football as well as 'Total Football' - a style he made famous.

"I don't know Daley Blind very well but him playing a great World Cup tournament in Brazil last year resulted in a deserved transfer to United. Memphis, on the other hand, I know well. We played together in my last season of my active career as football player. He is extremely talented and possesses fabulous individual qualities."
