Holland coach Marco van Basten has taken a swipe at Arsenal over the injury problems of Robin van Persie.

He said: "This season at Arsenal, Robin came back too soon after injury and had a relapse.

"That's why our doctors feel that it is better to leave him to recover as much as possible rather than risk an injury during a friendly match.

"We will not take any risk with him because Robin is a special player and will be very useful in the match against Italy."
