Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera is emerging as a target for Ernesto Valverde at Barcelona.

Valverde, having confirmed yesterday he was leaving Athletic Bilbao, will be named Barca coach on Monday.

Sport says Herrera has long been on Barca's radar, but the arrival of Valverde will see them step up their interest.

Valverde worked with Herrera at Bilbao and was angry when he was sold to United.

The midfielder is about to enter the final year of his United contract and Barca are ready to make a bid - on recommendation of their new coach.
