Valverde insists Barcelona deserve QF draw despite Chumi controversy

Barcelona are into the Copa del Rey quarterfinals after a 3-0 second-leg win over Levante.

Barcelona overturned a 2-1 first-leg deficit to beat Levante 4-2 and reach the final eight.

Two fortuitous Ousmane Dembele goals in the first half put Barca - cup winners in the past four seasons - ahead on aggregate at the Nou Camp.

Lionel Messi tucked in a third, his seventh goal in five games.

Barca coach Ernesto Valverde is adamant they deserve to be in the hat, despite controversy over the selection of Chumi for the first-leg.

"There were never any doubts about [playing] Chumi, none. We did everything right," said Valverde.

"We will be in the draw for the quarter-final. We have no doubts, not before, not during and not now. We have the security of knowing we did everything right.

"We knew that Chumi was banned and not available for [the La Liga] game against Eibar, but he could play in the cup. We're convinced we acted correctly. Absolutely. We've won where we had to win to progress: on the pitch."
