Villarreal coach Ernesto Valverde held crisis talks with club powerbrokers yesterday.

Fernando Roig, the club president, and CEO Jose Manuel Llaneza both met with Valverde to discuss their poor start to the season.

Roig has assured Valverde he has his confidence and said: "What we cannot do now is put our head down thinking about the bad luck we are having.

"We are in a difficult situation and we will be measured by how we deal with it. We must show the pride we have and leave everything on the field from the first minute until the last."
