Liverpool's new goalkeeping coach Xavi Valero has been backed for success.
"Liverpool have got a good coach and I wish him well. You couldn't fault his work rate and dedication to the game. Maybe, I'll get in touch again to wish him all the best for the future. He has landed a great job.
He added: "He was with us for about four or six weeks after being recommended to us by Liverpool when Denis Smith was manager. We were having a bit of a goalkeeping crisis at the time.
"He spent about three weeks training with us. He was lovely fell, worked really hard. I never actually saw him play but he was a joy to work with in training."
