Carl Valeri's Italian club Sassuolo, have missed out on promotion to Serie A after going down to Torino in their play-off clash.

After the first leg in Turin ended 1-1, Sassuolo hosted Torino at the Stadio Alberto Braglia but lost 2-1 to miss out on their chance to bounce back to the top flight.

Valeri is currently in South Africa preparing for the World Cup with Australia but was a key member of the squad after crossing from Grosseto in January.
