Real Madrid will turn to Valencia striker David Villa should they fail to convince Manchester United to part with Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.
Marca says Villa is Real's No1 alternative target and are confident they will see off all-comers should they be forced to move for the Spain international.
For his part, Villa favours a move to Real above leaving Spain for the Premiership.
