Joaquin asked Real Betis fans to forgive him after he scored for Valencia in yesterday's 2-1 win.

The former Betis favourite said at the final whistle: "I am happy because we won. The three points are important for us.

"I have great respect for the Betis fans and I believe they feel the same way for everything I did for the club while I was here."

Betis fans gave Joaquin a great ovation when he was substituted by coach Quique Sanchez Flores and he added: "The applause was because they know that I am a Betico and I will continue being so until I die."
