Valencia midfielder Ever Banega is still to win over Atletico Madrid chiefs.

Banega is keen to make his loan move at Atletico a permanent deal, but his dismissal against Villarreal in Sunday's 4-4 draw has angered some directors.

"These individual errors cannot be tolerated," said one to AS. "He's a very young kid and needs to learn quickly."

Indeed, Atletico coach Javier Aguirre is yet to be convinced that Banega is a long-term option for his midfield.
