Valencia are refusing to shelve their pursuit of Porto midfielder Lucho Gonzalez.

Porto have already rejected a £12 million bid from Valencia for the Argentina international and are under no pressure to sell after cashing in on Anderson [Manchester United] and Pepe [Real Madrid] this summer.

But Valencia won't consider giving up and are ready to make an improved offer in the coming days. Gonzalez is keen on a move to the Mestalla and his agent, Marcelo Simonian, is working on Porto to lower their asking price.
