Eliaquim Mangala looks set to return to Manchester City in the summer.
The French defender was sent on loan to Valencia by Pep Guardiola but according to The Sun, has failed to impress at the Mestalla.
Mangala, 25, has played in 11 La Liga games for Los Che but it is understood that the Spanish club are not keen to take up the option of a permanent transfer at the end of the season.
A City source said: “Pep decided he did not want him early on and he was sent out for the season.
“It's hard to imagine he has a future at the club, even if Valencia don't want him, he will still probably leave."
The former FC Porto star has a £15million purchase clause in his loan but only if Valencia want to make the temporary move a permanent one, which now appears highly unlikely.
