Valencia are making a serious play to win the race for Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu.

Celta Vigo, Real Betis and Sevilla have all expressed interest in taking the midfielder off Chelsea's hands this summer.

Valencia have now stepped up the battle by holding talks with Romeu's agent, Magico Diaz.

It's understood Romeu has made it clear he'd love the chance of playing at the Mestalla next season.
