Valencia have been shopping in England for a new striker.
Superdeporte says the La Liga club wanted to bolster their frontline during the summer, but they only managed to sign Munir El Haddadi on loan from Barcelona after selling Paco Alcacer to the Camp Nou club.
They enquired about signing Christian Benteke and Loic Remy before both strikers moved to Crystal Palace.
Former Valencia boss Pako Ayesteran also suggested making a move for Leicester City hitman Leonardo Ulloa on the last day of the transfer window, but that option was discarded by the club's sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch.
