Valencia have released defender David Navarro.

The 31-year-old defender, who came up through the ranks at Valencia and spent two seasons on loan at Real Mallorca before returning to Los Che in 2009, has been linked with a move to Swiss side Neuchatel Xamax.

A statement on the Valencia website read: "Valencia and David Navarro have reached an agreement to rescind the contract which ran until June 30, 2012.

"Valencia wish the best of luck to their former team captain in his new personal and professional life."
