Valencia have rejected an approach from Wolfsburg for defender Carlos Marchena.

In the summer, Valencia turned down offers from Manchester City and Panathinaikos for the centre-half.

And Las Provincias says this week Wolfsburg have failed with a tentative approach for Marchena, who they see as a readymade replacement for Bosman prospect Ricardo Costa.
