Swansea City have failed with a bid for Valencia winger Pablo Hernandez.
The South Wales Echo says it is believed the Swans returned to Spain with an improved offer to try and land the four-cap international having seen initial approaches turned down earlier this month.
But despite meeting Valencia's original €6.5m valuation of the player, the latest offer was thrown out by the La Liga outfit's president Manuel Llorente after boss Mauricio Pellegrino insisted he wants to keep Hernandez at the Mestalla.
