Valencia president Salvo confirms Tottenham talks over Soldado

Valencia president Amedao Salvo has confirmed Tottenham are in talks for striker Roberto Soldado.

The Spanish club have announced that they will be holding a board meeting at 11am this morning, where the forward's future will be decided.

Salvo said: "We have asked for £26m. What they've offered isn't too far off. Tomorrow we'll continue negotiations with [Tottenham].

"The two clubs have spoken and Valencia made it clear that they wanted 30 million euros.

"Tottenham's mission is to get the player as cheaply as possible, while ours is to receive 30 million. There's not much room for manouevre. For a deal to take place two things have to happen: the player has to want to go and they need to pay what Valencia demand. The board will study the situation."
